December 2009

Before Christmas, Renald got tickets to a Jazz Suite so we went to the game with some friends. It was pretty neat, I've never been in one before. Austin had his Christmas recital and did excellent. He memorized and played 2 songs, Rudolph the red nose reindeer and We wish you a merry christmas!

For Christmas Eve, the kids and I headed over to my parents house to celebrate. Renald closed so he wasn't able to make it. My sister's Jenn and Ashley both came, along with Ashley pitbull!! The grandkids always seem to have a great time together. It's so fun to watch them play with their cousins. Sorry for the funky images, my camera wasn't working.

On Christmas Day, Tyson was the first to wake up, followed by Weston, Austin then Sydney, although we did have to wake her up. Renald won't let any of the the kids in the living room until they are all awake and his video camera is rolling. Renald always has all the presents stacked around the tree, then he hands one to each kid and they get to open one at a time. I enjoy it this way because its not over so quick and you get to watch all kids open every present. Nicole mentioned in her blog how you lose the "butterfly feeling" you get as a kid, but I think that feeling comes back when you watch your kids open their presents and seeing the look on their faces when they see what it is. Renald always does most of the shopping and I am always just as suprised as the kids Christmas morning. It's good he does it because if it was left to me they would only get pj's and toothbrushes.

During the break we took our kids skiing at Beaver Mountain. Yes there wasn't hardly any snow but it was okay because we were skiing with our kids. They had a blast. Tyson graduated from the edgy-wedgy and ski's without them! We will hopefully get Sydney started, she is so excited, except for the fact that all of her snow clothes are pink except for her black helmet. What a little terd!

Last night Sydney jumped off the couch and hurt her ankle. The next morning it still hurt and still wouldn't walk on it so I took her to the doctor. Turn's out she only sprained it but there is a lot of fluid around the sprain so they casted the back of of the foot and leg then wrapped it up. Again she was a little sad they didn't have a pink bandage. Although I am happy it's not broke but it's seems like I spend a fortune at the Dr's office. Just 2 wks ago, Sydney was with her cousins in her grandma's tub and slipped and cut her chin. Richfield only has a emergency room and ended up getting it glued shut for only 100.00 oh yeah!! No one is allowed to get hurt for at least 2 months!!!!

What a fun holiday (except for Sydney's mishaps!). Interesting that Renald does most of the shopping; if Allen had his choice, he would only shop online!

Fun pictures! I love the temple picture in the background!! That must be new! Sydney looks adorable in her tutu! Pink is also the most important attribute of anything in our house. I even got my kids to eat ham and beans because I used pink beans!
